His mother Anna Reis Jarvis has been a Sunday school teacher in a church for two decades. Its just a matter of one day. His mother was speaking about a lesson on Mother in the Bible during the Sunday school session. At that time Jarvis was 12 years old. During his lesson, his mother expressed his desire. He heard his mother say, one day will come when many devote a day to celebrate mother and motherhood. By that time only men had dedicated days which were celebrated. There was no day for women.
