Egypt Found 18th Dynasty Sealed Coffins
Archaeologists have discovered twenty ancient coffins in Egypt. They found these wooden coffins near the city of Luxor two and a half thousand years ago
The coffins were discovered from a cemetery in ancient Tibet city on the west bank of the Nile, the BBC reported.
There are several tombs in that area of the Asasif area, which are close to the monarchy before 664-332 BC.
There is also the tomb of the Pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty of ancient Egypt. Prominent Pharoahmos, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Amenhotep III, Akhenaten and Tutankhamun were in that period.
Last week, the Ministry of Archaeology announced that archaeologists had discovered an ancient industrial area in the western valley of Luxor.
It said that they discovered many pottery and funeral furniture of the 18th Dynasty in the region.
Nobles and officials were buried in Al-Assasif during pharaonic times. The cemetery has previously yielded archaeological finds dating back to Egypt's 18th dynasty, which began in around 1539 B.C.
However, there are also tombs from the earlier 18th Dynasty (1550-1292BC), which was the first of the New Kingdom and included the famous pharaohs Ahmose, Hatshepsut, Thutmose III, Amenhotep III, Akhenaton and Tutankhamun.
Officials are yet to disclose which period the coffins may date from, with further details expected to be announced at a press conference in Luxor on Saturday.
