Photographic Memory

What is a Photographic Memory?

Photographic memory is a process of storing memories. In other words, after looking at something for a moment, it is etched in the memory forever, but it is called photographic memory.

In fact, in the field of science, this thing is a very hot topic. However, at present, according to scientists, humans have absolutely no pure photographic memory, that is, no homo sapiens. Many people with photographic memory came forward with claims but none of them passed the test.

But yes, there are many people in the world who do not have a photographic memory but have a very strong memory. This process of remembering is called identical imagery. People who have such memories are called identifiers. In this process, after seeing something, the brain makes an exact replica of it which is similar to the whole picture.

Every detail is memorized exactly. But the organized image of this process stays in the brain for only a few minutes. In addition to this, there are many people who look like they have people with a photographic memory, such as chess players, Rubik's Cube who match.

In fact, perseverance and practice are behind their strong memory. It is because of this pre-practice that the human brain builds something with the help of patterns or rhythms.

The point is, no photographic memory has ever been found, and scientists say that it is impossible for ordinary people to possess such power. But now that science is moving at turbo speed, no one can say for sure when it will happen. Maybe the time will come when with the help of science and technology one day people will be able to bring this memory to their own.

  1. People who believe themselves to have photographic memory say they can look at a photograph, scene, image, or other form of visual stimuli and retain that image exactly as it appeared for an extended period of time.

  2. According to a survey conducted in 2007 by a neuropsychologist at Trinity College Dublin, fully a third of Brits under the age of thirty can't remember even their own home land line number without pulling it up on their handsets. The same survey found that 30 percent of adults can't remember the birthdays of more than three immediate family members. [Moonwalking with Einstein: The Art and Science of Remembering Everything:]
