Travel to Lachung in North Sikkim
Fig: Unknown jungle fruit

Come back to Lachung, a small hill village in North Sikkim

The word Lachung means ‘small passable area’. There is also a monastery. A few lamas live here. There is a carpet weaving center in Lachung. The Yumthang Valley is easily accessible from Lachung.

Every moment spent here will be remembered by you for the rest of your life. This valley is covered with snow during winter. At that time Yumthang became the free-roaming land of the tourist-loving Bengalis.

Lachung, village, northeastern Sikkim state, northeastern India. It is located on the Lachung River, a tributary of the Tista River, in a deep valley at the base of the Himalayas near the border with Tibet (China).

This place is ebullient and perky during the summer with a perfect temperature ranging between 10°C to 28°C and is serene and magnificent during the winter season with snowflakes all over.

Tourists should be careful because of the extreme cold. If you wear fur all the time, you are less likely to catch a cold. Tourists from all over the world visit here from October to May. This is the peak time of Lachung travel. They came to Lachung on the way to visit Yamthang Valley, Lachung Monastery. Most of the inhabitants of Lachung are Lepcha and Tibetan.
