How Can I Choose My Camera Lenses?

Camera Lense

Selecting Perfect Lenses for DSLR Camera

The lens is one of the most important components in judging the quality of a camera. Therefore, no matter which brand of DSLR you choose, a collection of different types of lenses are available in the market.

In fact, the top 3 most popular brands on the market today, Nikon, Canon and Sony have an equal number and a wide range of lenses
However, it is well known that Nikon's lenses are quite affordable compared to Canon or Sony lenses with the same features. In addition, all these brands offer a special size and type of kit lens, which is an 18-55 mm zoom lens.

If you want to buy a good DSLR camera and lens within budget, you should buy a low-cost body with crop frame sensor and spend more money to buy a zoom kit lens and a prime lens together.

By doing this you will always be ready to take any kind of picture. In my opinion, it is better to buy a 50 mm F1.8 prime lens with an 18-55 mm kit lens; And if the budget is a little better, you can buy a 50mm F1.4 Prime lens, which is even better than the F1.8.

If you have no problem with your budget and want to use DSLR on a professional level, then you can buy a combination of different types of lenses. You can buy a 16-40 mm kit lens for taking pictures at wide angles, if the budget is a little better, you can buy a 16-35 mm lens instead.

At the same time, a lens that can take great landscape and portrait pictures and zoom in more are a 24-60 millimetre (or slightly more expensive 24-105 millimetre) kit lens. There are also better zoom lenses on the market for portrait photography, such as the 80-200mm F4 / 80-200mm F2.7 (slightly higher price) lens.
Prime lenses perform best for portrait photography, so instead of a 50mm lens, you can buy a 75mm f1.6 lens or a 75mm f1.4 lens if you have a better budget. The mentioned lenses can take good pictures even in low light.

  1. Which is better Tamron or Sigma?
At 600mm, the Tamron has a very slight center-of-the-frame advantage and the Sigma has a larger corner-of-the-frame advantage. Stopping down to f/8 reduces most of the sharpness advantages one lens has over the other. The Sigma has sharper corners at 150mm and 500mm, but the Tamron has sharper corners at 400mm.
